Terms of service

These terms are an agreement between you and Clemine Studio Enterprise (Malaysia, registration LA0094130-D), the company behind Voilacut ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using voilacut.com you agree to them. We've written them to be read, not skimmed past.

Payments are handled by Paddle. Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.

1. What Voilacut does

Voilacut is AI video-editing software. You upload your own clips (and optionally a reference video, a brief, a script or a brand kit); Voilacut plans an edit, cuts, grades, captions and mixes it, and gives you back a short video you can review, change and download. Some features use trusted service providers, including AI services (see our Privacy policy).

2. Your account

You need an account to use the studio. Keep your sign-in email secure; you're responsible for what happens in your account. You must be at least 13 years old, or older if the law where you live requires it, and old enough to agree to these terms where you live. Business accounts may be used by the people the business allows.

3. Plans, credits and billing

Voilacut runs on credits. A typical video uses 12 credits; extras such as AI voiceover, 4K, translated captions or matching a reference use a few more. The price in credits is always shown before you confirm a video.
Paid plans (Starter, Creator, Studio) are subscriptions billed monthly or yearly in advance through Paddle, and renew automatically until you cancel. You can cancel at any time; your plan stays active until the end of the period you've paid for.
Plan credits refresh each billing period. On Creator and Studio, unused plan credits roll over for one month. Top-up credits are valid for 12 months from purchase. Credits have no cash value and can't be transferred.
Free credits and voucher credits are a gift; they may expire on the date shown in your studio.
If an edit fails on our side, the credits go back to your account automatically. Refunds follow our Refund policy.
Prices may differ by country and include or add sales tax / VAT as shown at checkout by Paddle. We'll tell you at least 14 days before a price change affects your subscription.

4. Your videos stay yours

You keep all rights to the clips you upload and the videos Voilacut makes from them. You give us a limited licence to store and process your files only to provide the service to you (for example, to transcribe speech, choose cuts and render your video). We don't use your videos for advertising, and we don't sell them.

You confirm that you have the rights and permissions needed for what you upload, including the consent of people who appear in your clips, and any music or footage that isn't yours.

5. What you can't use Voilacut for

Anything illegal, or content that sexualises minors in any way.
Deceiving people about who someone is: impersonating a real person, or making someone appear to say or do something they didn't, without their clear consent.
Harassment, hate, violent threats, or content that targets a private person.
Content that infringes someone else's copyright, trademark or privacy.
Trying to break, overload, reverse-engineer or resell the service, or get around credit limits.

We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules.

6. AI makes mistakes

Voilacut's edits, captions, translations, voiceovers and scripts are made with AI and can be wrong. Please watch your video before you post it, especially names, numbers and claims. You're responsible for what you publish.

7. Storage

To keep your files private and our costs low, uploaded clips and finished videos are deleted automatically 14 days after they're created. Download anything you want to keep. Your brand kit stays until you change or delete it.

8. Studio hand-finish

You can ask a Clemine Studio editor to finish a video by hand for a fixed price shown in the studio (currently US$15). We aim to deliver within 24 hours of payment. If we can't deliver, you get your money back.

9. Availability and changes

We work hard to keep Voilacut running, but we can't promise it will always be available or error-free. We may add, change or remove features. If we make a change that takes away something you've paid for, we'll offer a fair refund for the unused part.

10. Liability

To the extent the law allows, Voilacut is provided "as is", and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 3 months before the claim. We're not liable for indirect losses such as lost profits or lost followers. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that can't be limited.

11. Ending your account

You can stop using Voilacut and ask us to delete your account at any time by emailing [email protected]. We may close accounts that break these terms; where it's fair, we'll warn you first.

12. Changes to these terms

If we change these terms in a way that matters, we'll email you or show a notice in the studio before the change takes effect.

13. Law

Voilacut is available worldwide. These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia, where Clemine Studio is registered. Wherever you live, if you're a consumer you also keep the protections your local consumer law gives you, and nothing in these terms takes them away.
